S.M.A.R.T. Fire Academy
The SMART Fire Academy offers advise and connections linking students with part time, flexible firefighter certification programs allowing students to achieve their dreams of becoming firefighters. The certificates achieved by successful students include the NFPA 1001: Firefighter Level I&II certification and also the NFPA 472: HAZMAT Awareness & Operations certifications. The process involves three unique steps which allow for students to complete the program part time and not sacrifice large amounts of time away from their jobs, families, or other commitments to do so. The NFPA 1001: Firefighter programs consist of local weekend hands-on sessions, online theory components and a final two week boot camp or third party skills evaluation.

Advantages of going through SMART
There are many fire and EMS programs available to Canadian students. The advantage to allowing SMART to help you coordinate these programs really comes down to saving time, saving money, and increasing your odds of success. SMART Fire Academy can connect you with training programs and providers at costs that are significantly reduced compared to going to them on your own. This saves you money. SMART also works with providers across Canada that are currently working as Firefighters, Fire Chiefs, EMS providers, etc. These connections allow students using SMART to be connected with local experts and additional information that others simply would not have access to. This aids students in eventually gaining employment in the fire and EMS services industry.
